CRANSTON, RI, April 6: The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund has partnered with Yale-New Haven’s Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cardiology Department with a $10,000 grant to sponsor Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Teaching Day and a congenital heart disease patient support fund.
“We are very happy to be able to support these initiatives in our continued mission to provide financial and educational support to children in Connecticut.” said co-founder Louise Dinsmore. “Our Fund has its roots in New Haven as several members of our Board of Directors live there currently. New Haven is also my hometown, so it is especially meaningful to give back to that community”
New Haven residents and Board Members Carmela Savo and Roseanne Vece presented the $10,000 check to Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Alan Friedman and Dr. Robert Elder.
The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Teaching Day will provide the pediatric cardiology medical professionals with the resources for a day of lectures and teaching by world experts in their field. The second piece of the grant, the patient support fund, is designed to help families with expenses related to housing, food, travel, parking, or medical co-payments.
